Requirement The client directly publishes over 90 magazines in five countries and their magazines are also present in over 30 countries through licensing agreements with 47 publishing partners. They operate a significant number of dedicated servers and have over 1000 domain names, (web site addresess), channeled through our infrastructure. The success of their sites has generated extreme bandwidth requirements. The objective was to contain (or reduce) costs whilst improving the reliability of their existing service provided through the encumbent Cable & Wireless. A further objective was to have any servers located closer to the client's Bath headquarters. Solution JPC proposed a solution involving dedicated rack space, initially at our facility in Telehouse. A flexible and scalable bandwidth contract was offered together with a 2mbps leased line between our Network Operations Centre in Trowbridge and the client's head office in Bath. The new service went live in early July 2001 and has performed in accordance with expectations since that date. |
